Co-Infection Status of Enterovirus among Hepatitis (A, B, and C) Positive Individual Living within Abuja Internally Displaced Persons Camps

The Enterovirus (EV-71) co-infection among Hepatitis A, B and C virus has become a global co-mortality. This research determined enteroviruses profile HAV, HBV HCV positive individuals within internally displaced persons camps Abuja, Nigeria. A descriptive cross sectional design was adopted where blood samples from 450 respondents were collected the three screened for presence of C. Positive further assayed with Enterovirus-71 using Rapid Strip RT-PCR Amplification 16sRNA 71(EV71). data analyzed SPSS Version 22.1 Software. results revealed that out studied subjects 11 (2.4%) HAV positive, 42 (9.3%) 33 (7.3%) positive. Only 1 (0.2%) subject found to be co-infected HAV/EV-71. prevalence hepatitis differ significantly males females (P=0.001), various age groups (P=0.001) occupation (P=0.001). study reports low rate (A, B, C) living Abuja camps. recommends routine screening EV-71 early diagnosis possible adoption management control measures may include vaccination infected individuals.
